T H E B O T T O M L I N E

Here We Are
We are so advanced
on our way to freedom
as a species
and as responsible
of our future.

The time for the game
of Survival of the Fittest
and strongest
is long gone,
no longer needed.

Reason of Life
is to be Life
not Who Can Grab More,
but Who Has Enough.

No reason but the
BOTTOM LINE
people die of starvation
of not having enough.

People die for No Reason
because no doctors
are available,
no insurance carriers,
medication just out of
reach.

THE BOTTOM LINE

To the Bottom Line
I pledge:
That I will slave myself
whoring to the top
...well whoring anyway
in hopes of having
enough for me
and my family
to survive.

I pledge to carry
my hopes and dreams
and protect them in any way
necessary
'till the time I can retire
hopefully with enough to live
...still
a couple of years.

Just let me enjoy my wife,
my children
and grandchildren
then I can go...

This is what's true
We are here
sharing a dream
as lovers,
a trip for the essence
of being semiconscious.
We are born.
we're gonna die.

What's this stupid game
of the Bottom Line,
What Line,
Whose Bottom?

There's no need to rob
when you have enough,
yet you rob
to accumulate a little more
of that you don't need.

Power?
Bullshit.

How can 50 million
people
live without a job?
How can 50 zillion
live with one they don't love?

T H E B O T T O M L I N E

How many dead
in the name of something
that'll be gone tomorrow.

Bottom Line,
Humbug I say.

I'm in denial?
No other possible society?
Economic System?

OK

The Difference

between you and me
is that you are you
while I am me.

Richer vs. poorer
educated vs. un-
better or worse?
better than what
worse than who?
More than nothing
for that is what
we are,
Nothing.

And love and life
may be other nothings
but are what really count.

The Sad Fate of Ferries
old, rusting, crumbling
those which faithfully
took us from shore to shore.
Now out of service
now dying out.
From a long-gone era
that valued more
the well crafted job
than the $$bottom line$$.
Replaced by newer,
slicker, more problematic,
less comfortable,
more ... stylish,
less of a personality,
newer, sleeker
more user friendly,
more impersonal.
"All ashowah, all ashowah,
all passengers
must leave the boat.
All ashowah, all ashowah".
Recorded voice (time present)
"May I have your attention please.
Welcome aboard
the Staten Island Ferry,
please pay attention
to the following..."
Mechanical pleasantry
babbles on and on,
I just wonder when
the capitan and crew will become "cyber"
as is happening in the subway booths
gone the way of the oil-check
and cleaning windshield
while you pumped gas
gone the way of courtesy
and mugging for a meal or a fix.
While those way up there
can play their political destiny
pulling strings that we didn' know
existed
but we march on
'till we're rust and bolts.
