Hope and Reality

It makes you
stop
and wonder
what this "slice"
of life means.

How life changes
to its own rhythm
its own chords
creating a symphony
of death.

Yet that is life
'till there is life
no more.
And that, friends
is the next
big chapter.

Life is that
slicing through
an ocean
of possibilities
alternatives
become
the near future
Now.

It is all there
for us to fill
with meaning
the more meaning
the most.

Each slice
(photo, memory, experience)
forming a tri-dimensional square
in the patchwork
quilt of our lives.
Each slice
with millions of layers.
Each patch
has more meanings
than would fit here
to express.
Each slice vital
to forming this
our life.

The more we pay attention
the more we get out of it.
